Artists and artist athletes such as dancers, figure skaters, gymnasts, drag queens, figure posing competitors, western show competitors and cheerleaders are the obvious artists to support. At Rhinestones Unlimited we seek to support the support team of artists behind the artist. What do we mean? We look for the choreographers, dance teachers, coaches, costumers, dressmakers, and tailors that provide the sparkle and artful eye and talent that really allows the artist to sparkle in the spotlight. "To kick off this season we are thrilled with the return of the Sparkle in the Spotlight Design Contest. As part of our celebration and support of artistry, we present to you the finalists in the Sparkle In the Spotlight 2019 costume competition!
This week's finalist is: PETRA POLAK DESIGNS.
Petra Designs (Petra Ch. Polak), based in Corona, California, specializes in creating beautiful dancesport costumes. Her mission is to help dancers express their personal style while feeling confident and radiant on the dance floor.
Petra believes the perfect dress is a harmonious blend of design and function—one that flatters the dancer’s body, enhances movement without overpowering it, reflects their personality, and complements their skin tone, eye color, and hair.
She began her custom design career in 1996 while actively competing across Europe. What started as creating her own costumes soon grew into designing for other dancers. Even after many years of experience, Petra continues to refine her craft by staying up to date with current trends and exploring new techniques to achieve greater precision and efficiency.
Each of Petra’s designs is original, crafted from the highest quality fabrics and rhinestones. Her work is known for its impeccable fit and stunning attention to detail. Don’t miss her striking “Sparkle in the Spotlight” creation!
